OPTICAL SOUND EXPERIENCE is the graphic design practice of Benjamin Rodgers (he/they), a designer and musician based in Oakland, California. Optical Sound Experience typically focuses on poster art, record package design, merchandise design, and logos, branding, and visual design for independent musicians, record labels, promoters, and venues.
My work has been shaped by my experience as a player and show organizer in the Bay Area's rich underground experimental music community, and by years spent digging through record store bins in pursuit of well-worn progressive rock, free jazz, and global psychedelic grooves.
